As a teaching Medical Center, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System provides a full range of services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research.
Academic Partners
Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is primarily affiliated with Vanderbilt University and Meharry Medical College. We offer residency training in all major medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. Associated Health Training is offered in:

Each year, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System funds over 895 medical and nearly one dozen dental resident slots. Training is also provided to over 772 nursing and associated health trainees.
Veterans Service Organizations
Tennessee Valley Healthcare System maintains a good working relationship with all of our veteran service organization (VSO) partners. We regularly brief our VSO representatives on changes impacting veterans' health care.
A Veterans Advisory Board (VAB) has been established which includes stakeholders from a number of veterans groups. The VAB meets quarterly.
US Department of Defense
As a participant in the US Department of Defense TRICARE Program*, Tennessee valley Healthcare System serves as the main referral source for women's health and orthopedic specialty appointments.
