Veteran and Family Advisory Council (VFAC)

The Veteran and Family Advisory Council mission is threefold:

1. To partner with health care staff to improve Veteran experience through strengthened communication among Veterans, families and staff.

2. To assist in finding ways to improve safety, satisfaction, and quality of care.

3. To allow staff to listen to and honor Veteran and family choices.

The VFAC serves in an advisory capacity to assist TVHS in personalizing, humanizing, and demystifying the health care experience. Membership of this council is a working task force of Veterans to help TVHS always put patients and families first.

The VFAC serves as a forum for systematic inclusion of patient and family preferences into clinical care delivery, policy creation and quality improvement. TVHS staff meets with and systematically receives unfiltered, direct feedback from Veterans and family members at monthly meetings of the VFAC.

The VFAC is a diverse group of individuals with varied backgrounds and experiences. Members are chosen after a thorough screening and interviewing process.
