Social Work Services Mission, Vision, and Values

Mission

The mission of Social Work Service within VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is to support and assist in the achievement of providing quality medical care and services to all eligible veterans. This is accomplished through the social work staff working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary manner with other health care personnel in providing evaluative, preventive, therapeutic, restorative, educational and rehabilitative services, community referrals and discharge planning. Social work services are provided in a manner that will maintain the respect and dignity of the individual and the individual’s rights to confidentiality and to timely, high quality, comprehensive services  rendered with compassion and professional commitment.

In return for the investment of veteran's trust and institutional support, VA Social Work will provide the foremost leadership in the psychosocial care of veterans and their families.
